Call to Action - Pickens County ReOrg Redo
Dear Friends and Neighbors of Pickens County,

Pickens County has long been the heart of conservative values in South Carolina — strong families, strong faith, and strong voices for liberty. But today, those very grassroots voices are being sidelined. The South Carolina Republican Party’s handling of our Pickens County Reorganization redo feels more like an attempt to manage the outcome of the ReOrg as opposed to a fair process that empowers the people and maximizes participation.

True leadership is built on trust, transparency, and fairness — yet what we’re seeing is a patchwork of rules applied one way for some and another way for others. That uneven treatment undermines the confidence and integrity that our party should stand for.
Our team has been doing the hard work of making calls, gathering information, and trying to ensure that every Republican in Pickens County can access accurate and timely details about their precinct’s meeting. But too often, information is being withheld or delayed; leaving many in the dark by not providing adequate notice for individuals to participate in this critical event.
This is not how any county in South Carolina should be treated. Fairness and openness are the foundation of our Republic, and our community deserves no less.

Now is the time for our state legislators to step up and stand with the people they represent. We are calling on them to insist on full transparency and equal treatment for Pickens County Republicans by demanding the immediate public release of all precinct meeting sites, dates, and times.

Keeping citizens uninformed about when and where they can participate is not just unfair — it’s voter suppression. It silences the very people who make our party strong. We’ve received concerning reports that some citizens calling the state office for clarification have been treated dismissively and some have even been hung up on when simply asking for basic information.

This is not acceptable; we need your voice!

Please reach out to your state legislators today (Iisted below) and urge them to stand up for transparency, fairness, and respect for the Republicans of Pickens County. Ask them to secure and publish the full schedule for all Pickens County ReOrg meetings. What steps will they take to ensure Pickens County Republicans are not disenfranchised in this ReOrg? What is reasonable advanced notice regarding a ReOrg to allow maximum participation? Are they comfortable with a process that keeps Republican voters in the dark and limits opportunity to participate, which coincidentally is the same false claim them made against the original 2025 County Convention? And why are they requiring the entire county to go thru precinct level ReOrg again when there were ZERO complaints against the 2025 precinct reorg meeting and makeup session?
As the saying goes, where there is smoke there is fire and this certainly appears to be a major dumpster fire in the making!

An Open Letter to the SC Republican Party
We submit this formal protest regarding the State Party’s voter suppression tactics against Pickens County. Many of the known venues and times for the upcoming reorganization are materially inadequate or difficult to get to for the potential delegate and alternate allotments of the precincts assigned to each site. These multiple venues and schedules have resulted in confusion, exclusion of eligible participants, and unequal access among precincts — burdens that confirm the harm and undermine confidence in party procedures.

In addition to the venue and schedule issues, the SCGOP has refused to publish a full schedule of precinct meetings in the county and has alerted only a select few to the meetings in their precincts.

Pickens County Republicans have demonstrated extraordinary grassroots commitment to conservative principles and the America First agenda. They deserve a fair, transparent, and accessible process that reflects those values—not one that discourages participation or erodes trust in Party leadership.

1. Inadequate Venues and Capacity Issues
The facilities selected for Pickens County are materially insufficient for the known and reasonably foreseeable participation levels of our delegates and alternates. These deficiencies have led to exclusion of eligible participants, unequal access among precincts, and inequitable treatment compared to other counties.

Figures above exclude reorganization staff, volunteers or observers.

These sites were selected despite the potential turnout from one of South Carolina’s most active Republican counties. Ironically, the same types of logistical issues were cited by the State Party as justification for forcing Pickens to redo its reorganization - yet the State is now replicating those very conditions.

2. Excessive Travel Burdens and Scheduling Conflicts
Pickens County is geographically large and predominantly rural. Some members of the largest precinct—Holly Springs—must travel approximately 26 miles (about 40 minutes each way) to reach its assigned reorganization site outside of the Holly Springs precinct. Holding sessions at 5:30 p.m. is particularly unreasonable for a blue-collar, working-class county, where many citizens are only ending their workday and/or returning home from work at that time or have responsibilities regarding their children’s activities.
These logistical and timing decisions create an undue burden on participation and effectively disenfranchise those who wish to be involved but cannot feasibly attend due to work and travel constraints.

3. No Access to the Full County Schedule
At this time, no comprehensive county reorganization schedule has been made publicly available. Citizens have only received information regarding their individual precinct meeting—if at all. In rural communities like Pickens, residents rely heavily on local networks and trusted individuals to coordinate and share such information. Without full transparency, these connections cannot function, resulting in confusion and suppressed participation.

Additionally, some citizens have reported they have not received any email or official notice regarding their reorganization information. This omission directly contradicts the principle of equal access and notice owed to every registered Republican within the county.

Further, when citizens have called the State Party office seeking information, they have been asked to provide their name and contact information for a call back, rather than receiving the requested details directly. This approach has made the process unnecessarily confusing, time-consuming, and discouraging for many voters attempting to participate in good faith.

4. Unequal Notification and Double Standard
It has also come to light that notices for this reorganization redo were sent only to individuals who participated in the unqualified March 2025 process, the very process that the State Party ruled invalid. This is a clear double standard.

In March, Pickens was accused of limiting participation, yet the State Party has now taken action that has the same or greater effect, excluding many Republicans who were not involved in the prior process but wish to participate now.

5. Ongoing Pattern of Unfair Treatment
Since May 3rd, Pickens County has been denied due process and treated inconsistently in comparison to other counties. The current reorganization redo continues that pattern through lack of transparency, fairness, and cooperation.

Requested Action
We respectfully request that the South Carolina Republican Party:
-
Re-evaluate and reassign venues to ensure adequate capacity, accessibility, and neutrality.
-
Publish a full, countywide schedule immediately to allow fair notice and participation.
-
Ensure equal treatment and procedural integrity consistent with other counties in the state.
-
Work with the local Pickens volunteers to ensure the process is effective and convenient as possible.
The South Carolina Republican Party is entrusted with administering the Republican primaries in our state. Is this an example of how those primaries are run—and why South Carolina is often called the bluest red state in the country? The reorg notices have been sent to select individuals, creating confusion and chaos throughout the process. Convention information was even distributed before reorganization information, seemingly to intentionally confuse and discourage participation.
Our country, and our Party, are better than this. Is this what we are willing to accept as the norm within the Republican Party? This is not merely disorganization—it is voter suppression by design, silencing the voices of grassroots conservatives who have worked tirelessly to uphold Republican principles. The last line of the South Carolina Republican Creed declares: “I am a free American.” Free Americans do not condone underhanded methods, restricted access, or selective transparency.

It is time for fairness, openness, and accountability to return to the South Carolina Republican Party.

Respectfully submitted,

Letter to SCGOP Leadership
Dear Fellow Republicans,

We realize that the original vote to unseat Pickens County at the State Convention and the vote to suspend Pickens County at the State EC meeting in June were both conducted with limited information, time and under chaotic situations. These circumstances made a truly informed decision impossible. In the past months, Pickens County leadership and other parties have been able to collate a significant amount of information regarding this challenge, which was the sole basis for suspension. A summary of these findings is as follows:

Chris Clark Formal Complaint Summary

The challenger, Chris Clark from Pickens County, placed third in the chairmanship election by a margin of 12 votes to the second-place finisher. Her challenge regarding that election claimed that delegates were denied registration, voting ability, and ability to attend convention are shown to be unsubstantiated and did not affect the outcome of the election. In addition, no formal complaint was lodged at the County Convention and the PCRP credentialing report was accepted unanimously with no discussion.

Finally, there were additional unsubstantiated claims made outside this formal complaint including that “hundreds” of people were not allowed into the County Convention (there has been absolutely no information provided supporting that claim) and that Bennett Connelly and his wife were denied access to their Precinct Reorganization Meeting. A volunteer worker, Alesa Pinkerton, talked to this couple while they were in line at Reorg and has documented that they left before checking in because they 1) just wanted to vote and did not have time for the 2 hour meeting and 2) wanted to vote for the County Chairman and state delegates which was not occurring at Reorg. Again, these were loud, vocal claims made against the PCRP in public forums that are just not correct and potentially vindictive.

It is important to note that there were 55 individual precinct meetings at Reorganization, all conducted by their own officers. None of these 137 duly elected Pickens County precinct officers or the meetings they held have been the subject of a formal complaint, yet all of these elected officials and their members are being disenfranchised. We ask that you consider the information presented here and over the last several months by both Pickens leadership and outside parties as you consider the steps for Pickens County to exit this suspension. Please visit our website Pickens Republicans Stand United for additional details.

My fellow SCGOP leaders, imagine if this happened to your county: a last minute allegation is made against it, there is inadequate time to verify the truth of the complaint or even discuss the details before a decision is required at the State Credentialing Committee, you are suspended based on limited and incorrect information in a chaotic meeting, and stating the facts once they are collected showing that the alleged rules violations are incorrect is ignored. On top of that, accepting these false allegations would not just disenfranchise a few party members but all county party members who followed the rules, participated in the process, and voted in the county election.

You will understand that we have no other alternative than to ask the SCGOP, based on these facts, that Pickens County Republican Party (PCRP) have the suspension lifted and be fully restored to a seated and organized entity recognizing the 2025 duly elected leadership team and delegates. As always, we welcome any members of the State Executive Committee to attend our county meetings and meet your fellow republicans.

Any other course of action, based on these facts, can only be interpreted as political retribution against the county, which has already been unjustly suspended for 2 months. If President Trump had accepted the false charges against him as opposed to standing by the truth, he would be in jail, and we would have a completely different country right now. We are all blessed and thankful that he stood strong in the breach. In our many conversations with GOP members across Pickens County, it is clear that their will is also to stand strong against the charges facing us.

We look forward to discussing this with you and restoring the SCGOP to a fully operating body.

Sincerely,

Pickens Republicans Stand United Leadership Team

Update on the PCRP Suspension
We want to update you regarding the status of the ongoing suspension of the Pickens County Republican Party (PCRP). Over the past three months, we have carefully evaluated our options while navigating the significant challenges posed by the lack of access to the PCRP’s website, bank account, email distribution list and social media platforms. We have used every avenue available to document and clarify the controversy including appealing the “suspension” to the highest levels of the National Republican Party. The RNC has responded back to us in summary stating, “After reviewing the materials you submitted, it appears that jurisdiction over this matter falls with the South Carolina Republican Party, and there is no basis for appeal to the RNC.” So, as of now, we have been unsuccessful gaining relief from this unjust suspension.

Given the realities of the political calendar—with primary season fast approaching—we have determined that the most effective and timely path forward is to develop a plan and submit it to the South Carolina GOP (SCGOP) for approval. We believe this course of action provides the most expeditious way to restore full functionality to the county party and ensure we can continue advancing the grassroots conservative movement in Pickens County. In the meantime, and in the event our plan is not accepted by the SCGOP, we will continue to operate as Pickens Republicans Stands United (PRSU).
We are committed to transparency and collaboration as we move ahead, and we welcome any input during this process.
Standing Strong and Pickens Proud,
Your PRSU Leadership Team
Letter from the President
Fellow Pickens Republicans,
The battle lines have been drawn, and it is clearly time to pick a side. This is a battle of the political establishment (RINO’s) versus the voice of the people (MAGA movement). As stated in our brief on our "suspension": The interests of South Carolina’s MAGA citizens, clearly in the majority in this state, are truly not being served by an establishment which would punish them for any opposition to, or defiance of, that establishment and the silencing of Pickens County patriots should alarm every like-minded citizen of South Carolina.
Simply put, Pickens is being singled out and punished because we have visibly disagreed with the State GOP establishment for a long time:

-
April 2023 - At its 2023 county convention, the Pickens County Republican Party voted to censure Senator Lindsey Graham. Upon its passing by the PCRP, with a copy being sent directly to Senator Graham
-
May 2023 - The twenty-four state delegates from the PCRP traveled to the South Carolina Republican Party state convention, where they were the only delegates from any county to vote unanimously against incumbent chairman of the SCGOP, Drew McKissick, in his reelection bid. At that convention, the America First candidates came within 16 votes of upsetting McKissick, who was then also vice-chair of the RNC.
-
July 2023 - At President Trump’s rally in Pickens, South Carolina, Sen. Graham was loudly booed in front of the nation in his home county
-
April 5, 2025 - At the 2025 PCRP county convention, Mark Lynch, a Republican opponent of Senator Graham in the 2026 midterm election, was the guest speaker
Every citizen has a right to disagree with leadership and have a discussion without worry of heavy-handed repercussions. That is supposed to be the American Way. Republicans are supposed to be the party of the free speech - it is what makes for a vibrant and successful state and country. A healthy exchange of ideas is what sharpens us in order to govern with a keen intellect and a developed wisdom.

Sadly, that is not how the SCGOP is being run under our current leadership. They want to eliminate any dissent or healthy discussion that could lead to them losing power. You either get in line or get squashed. They are taking a play right out of the Democrat playbook and in doing so have violated several SCGOP rules themselves, which is fully documented in our brief posted below. While that may be the current way of doing things, I believe that the good patriotic people of Pickens and South Carolina are sick of the tyrants and their games. We want a fair say in what is going on in our state and a seat at the table.

South Carolina is the bluest of the red states and we cannot let that trend continue. It is time to take back our representation and have a government that isn’t controlled by career politicians, lobbyists, and people who frankly are just in it for the power and personal financial benefit. Pickens County is the most conservative county in the state and has been on the forefront of this fight. That is why we bear the badge of honor for being singled out and must sail into the storm with purpose and righteousness.

If our ‘sins’ are so bad and so unprecedented that they just had to act to protect the party, then why couldn’t they get 75% of the State Executive Chairs to vote against us? Because they know they are giving us the death penalty for a misdemeanor! They want to make an example of us so the other counties will get in line and cower to the SCGOP establishment. They want Pickens to go away with our tails between our legs, come up with a plan to make us “righteous again” and be ever sorrowful for the “sins” we have committed against the State Establishment.

Well, that’s not going to happen. Let’s be clear, our leadership team and members inherited this mess, but we are determined to stay in the fight against an unjust state leadership, and we are dedicated to Pickens County and all our wonderful grassroots Republicans. We have shared our brief with national leaders and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible, otherwise we will fight on with a social media blitz through our Pickens Republicans Stand United group. We remain Pickens Proud, Pickens Strong and Pickens United.
